Vocals can be reduced on existing CD tracks. The effectiveness of the process varies depending on the mix and loudness of the original vocal. With some tracks the lead vocal can be reduced as much as 99%. We would estimate the average lead vocal is reduced by about 80%.

Vocal reduction is also sometimes called Vocal Removers or Vocal Elimination.

Older recordings don't always work so well because the vocal is not seperated from the instrument tracks (in the old days all the musicians and vocalist usually set up in one sound room). Exception: We have had some Sinatra and Elvis tunes work out great.
