- Singer Songwriter "Friend" is included on the Road Records compilation CD New Faces Volume Four. To listen to audio samples of Elena's songs, please visit the New Faces Vol. 4 page. Elena wrote all the songs and provided vocals on all songs, including "Friend". The song was produced Conrad Askland and he plays Hammond B3 organ and piano on the song. Friend is interesting in that it has a hip hop beat but the vocal is in 12/8 time. It's a song about betrayal and broken friendships. At the time of recording Elena had recently relocated to Los Angeles after living in Alaska.
